I love yarn, and I'm here to talk about my stash...
I'm Beth, and I'm a lifelong yarn crafter with over 30 years of crochet experience and one year of knitting under my belt. I have a passion for all things yarn and fiber, and I love to create beautiful, unique pieces that showcase the beauty and versatility of these materials.
I'm currently 42 hours into my second Dude-inspired sweater - this time in Ravenclaw (movie) colors. I'll try to update with the most recent photos as often as progress is made!
I learned to crochet from my Gramma, who instilled in me a love of yarn and a passion for creating beautiful things with my hands. My best friend taught me to knit, and I have been hooked on this new skill ever since. I create a wide variety of pieces, from geeky and goth to traditional and timeless, and I enjoy pushing the boundaries of what is possible with yarn and fiber.
I am a pattern builder at heart, and I love to design and create my own patterns for everything from sweaters and cardigans to blankets, pot holders, and more. I am constantly experimenting with new techniques and styles, and I enjoy altering existing patterns to suit my own needs and preferences. And if you're looking to make your own, I have plenty of tips, tricks, and patterns to share.
One of the things that sets me apart as a crafter is my ability to apply sewing techniques to garment design. I love to incorporate different techniques, fibers, and textures into my pieces, and I am always looking for new ways to combine materials to create stunning, custom, and unique designs.
In addition to designing my own patterns, I am also a skilled copyist, and I am able to create intricate and detailed pieces without the use of patterns. I draw inspiration from the world around me, and I am always on the lookout for new ideas and designs to incorporate into my work.
Finally, I have a deep respect for the legacy of those who came before me, and I am honored to have completed unfinished projects left by family members who have passed away. These pieces are a testament to the love and skill of those who came before me, and I am proud to continue their legacy through my own work.
Thank you for visiting Yarn Overload, and I look forward to sharing my passion for yarn and fiber with you here.
